Here are some pictures of 7th grade using the iPads to research their European explorers. They are using my new favorite site, edpuzzle.com, where they can view videos that are designed for them with questions as they watch. Once they had their research, they began creating their Explorer Holiday poster, creating a holiday for their assigned explorer that students will vote on next week!

The field trip to the Food Bank of Westchester was awesome today! Thank you so much to everyone for the food we collected over the last month, they were so happy that we came with such a nice donation! The kids were great today and we helped bag meals for kids in schools across Westchester so that they may have food over the holiday break when out of school. Thank you so much to Mrs. Hartigan for having this idea and helping me contact those involved at the food bank. Thank you to Mrs. Baumstark and Mrs. Cagney for being chaperones today and for the hot cocoa and cookies afterwards!
The 7th graders were assigned a European explorer to research. Based on this research, and their own creativity, they created their own holidays for their assigned explorer. They created posters to display information about their explorer and the holiday they created. Each poster was assigned a number, displayed in our room, and the students took turns voting for their favorite explorer holiday. The votes are finally counted! The winner is….
